I have been in a dry streak when it comes to thrifting. I picked up a new pair of wool socks for $3 the other dayI’m still building my jelly jar collection and I picked up two spools of serger thread ( something I know I’ll need eventually) but no major purchases.
It’s always fun to just poke around in the second-hand stores to see what’s there. It could be something fishy, like this
I can’t imagine what this little dish could be used for. Perhaps it is just meant to be decorative, but who wants a little three compartment dish with green ceramic fish in it on their coffee table? The label on the back reveals that it originally was purchased from Crate & Barrel. I searched their website & found nothing. Can any of you readers shed light on this mysterious item?
I agree, it would be a worthless thing to sit around the house like that. I have no idea what it would be for, but it would make a nice dish for olives, pickles, nuts and such for holiday dinners, minus the fish that is.
Hi Lois,
I think it’s much too small for any useful purpose. It would hold 4 olives at the most. You can see the scale compared to my hand in the picture where I photographed the Crate&Barrel sticker.
I hadn’t looked that closely at the size only the idea behind it. I can’t imagine what it could be used for, bet it cost quite a bit when sold by Crate and Barrel
It looks to me like the would hold dipping sauces and the fish are chopstick rests…I have something similar. 🙂
*the dish would hold dipping sauces…oops!
Thank you so much, I knew someone would know
